UT Austin Professor James W. Pennebaker Elected to National Academy of Sciences

James W. Pennebaker, professor emeritus of psychology at The University of Texas at Austin, has been elected to the National Academy of Sciences (NAS), one of the highest honors a scientist can receive in the United States. His election is a recognition of his significant contributions to the field of psychology, particularly in the areas of language, emotion, and social behavior.

Pennebaker is widely known for his pioneering research on the psychological and physical health benefits of expressive writing.
