North Hollywood High School Places Third at National Science Bowl

North Hollywood High School achieved a major academic milestone by securing third place in the prestigious National Science Bowl, held recently in Washington, D.C. The annual competition, hosted by the U.S. Department of Energy, challenges high school students from across the country with complex questions in disciplines including physics, chemistry, biology, earth and space science, and mathematics.

More than 65 high schools participated in this year’s event, engaging in fast-paced quiz-style rounds that tested not only raw knowledge but also collaboration and strategic thinking. North Hollywood High School’s team stood out for its impressive display of scientific acumen and cohesive teamwork, outperforming the majority of competitors to advance into the final rounds.

Principal and faculty members expressed pride in the students’ dedication and preparation. “Our students put in countless hours of study and practice. Placing third at the national level is a tremendous achievement that reflects their hard work and passion for science,” said a science department representative.

The National Science Bowl has been fostering academic excellence since its inception in 1991, providing thousands of students with a chance to deepen their scientific understanding and develop critical thinking skills in a competitive yet educational environment.

North Hollywood High School’s success at the event continues its strong tradition of excellence in STEM education and is expected to inspire younger students at the school to pursue science and problem-solving pursuits in the future.
