Meta Awards $250,000 Grant to Science Museum of Virginia for Environmental Initiatives

Meta, the multinational technology company known for Facebook and other major social media platforms, has awarded a $250,000 grant to the Science Museum of Virginia. The funding is aimed at supporting environmentally-focused initiatives through the museum’s educational and community programs.

The grant will enable the Science Museum of Virginia to expand its environmental education efforts, promote sustainability, and encourage public engagement with climate science and ecological topics. The support from Meta aligns with the company’s broader commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility.

Martha Quinn, the Foundation Director at the museum, emphasized the importance of the partnership, highlighting how it will allow the institution to reach more diverse audiences and deepen the public’s understanding of environmental conservation.

Specific projects to be funded through the grant were not immediately disclosed, but museum officials indicated that the investment would help enhance exhibits, develop new programming, and support outreach initiatives aimed at fostering environmental stewardship among visitors of all ages.
