Greek Prime Minister Highlights Tech Renaissance in Athens Event

Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis provided an in-depth view into Greece’s emerging role as a dynamic player in the global technology sector during a presentation at a recent StrictlyVC event held in Athens. The event spotlighted how Greece is positioning itself as a burgeoning destination for innovation, entrepreneurship, and international tech investment.

In his address to an audience of industry leaders, investors, and entrepreneurs, Mitsotakis outlined a range of national policy reforms and initiatives that have laid the groundwork for the country’s tech momentum. The Prime Minister emphasized Greece’s targeted approach in modernizing its digital infrastructure, creating favorable conditions for startups, and attracting investment through regulatory changes and incentives.

“We are rebuilding an ecosystem where creativity, innovation, and global collaboration can flourish,” Mitsotakis stated. He pointed to various governmental initiatives aimed at reducing bureaucracy, improving tax incentives for investors and companies, and enhancing education and research collaborations to build a future-ready workforce.

Among the prominent strategies discussed were the formation of new international partnerships with major tech firms, support mechanisms for early-stage startups, and significant investments in digital infrastructure, particularly in AI, cloud computing, and cybersecurity.

The Prime Minister also highlighted the success of recent public-private collaborations that have brought global technology players to Greece. These partnerships are not only boosting local job creation but also helping Greece gain a competitive edge in the growing digital economy.

As the country continues to emerge from past economic challenges, Mitsotakis’s administration is casting a spotlight on the tech sector as a centerpiece for sustainable growth. The government’s efforts have already begun paying dividends, with a notable rise in foreign direct investment and a growing number of domestic startups gaining traction at a global level.

By presenting Greece as a forward-thinking and business-friendly environment, Mitsotakis reaffirmed the country’s commitment to becoming a prominent destination in the European and global tech landscape. The event concluded with optimism among attendees, reflecting confidence in Greece’s strategic direction toward technological growth and innovation leadership.
