Two sixth-grade students from D.C. Everest Middle School, Nathan Welge and Braxton Larson, have qualified to participate in the National Science Bee, a prestigious academic competition that tests students’ knowledge in a wide range of scientific disciplines.

The National Science Bee provides an opportunity for students from across the country to showcase their understanding of subjects such as biology, chemistry, physics, and Earth science through buzzer-based rounds and written exams. Welge and Larson secured their spots in the national event after successfully advancing through local and regional qualifying rounds.

The achievement reflects the students’ dedication to academic excellence and support from educators at D.C. Everest Middle School. Their participation highlights the school district’s strong emphasis on STEM education and extracurricular academic opportunities.

The National Science Bee national finals are expected to be held later this year, where Welge and Larson will compete against top students from other states. Their qualification is a significant accomplishment and a source of pride for the local community.
