Medical teams from the United States Air Force, Canadian Armed Forces, and the Salvadoran health sector joined efforts on June 24, 2024, to provide essential health services to the community in Santa Ana, El Salvador. This collaborative effort was conducted under the multinational mission, AMISTAD 2025, which aims to strengthen partnerships and deliver humanitarian assistance in Central America.
As part of this initiative, health professionals offered a variety of services including general medical evaluations, dental care, and nutritional assessments. The event was designed to improve the overall well-being of underserved populations in the region while also fostering mutual understanding and cooperation between partner nations.
In addition to providing direct medical care, the deployment supported the broader goals of AMISTAD 2025, a recurring exercise that emphasizes joint humanitarian and civic assistance operations. These missions often include infrastructure development, education support, and public health outreach.
Local officials and community members expressed appreciation for the support, citing the importance of such international partnerships in addressing healthcare disparities. Military personnel and medical staff from each participating nation valued the opportunity to work in concert, enhancing interoperability and building strong relationships across borders.
AMISTAD 2025 will continue through the year with additional missions planned across various communities in the region. The program represents a sustained commitment by participating countries to promote stability, health, and resilience across Central America.
