SpaceX Starship Suffers Another Explosion During Test Flight, Raising Concerns Over Mars Plans

SpaceX’s Starship—the company’s massive, fully reusable spacecraft designed to carry humans and cargo to the Moon, Mars, and beyond—suffered another significant setback on Wednesday when it exploded during a high-altitude test flight. The mishap adds to a series of test failures for the ambitious program and raises concerns over the spacecraft’s ability to meet NASA contracts and fulfill CEO Elon Musk’s vision of interplanetary travel.

According to initial reports, the explosion occurred shortly after liftoff during a phase of flight that typically tests critical systems such as engine performance, stage separation, and controlled descent.
