Small businesses are grappling with mounting pressure from the rising costs of imported goods, according to experts. As sourcing materials domestically becomes increasingly difficult, business owners are left with few options to manage expenses.

Many small companies are being forced to raise prices, a move that could alienate customers and reduce sales. Others are making the difficult decision to cut staff, putting additional strain on operations and employee morale. Some businesses are delaying growth plans or entirely reconsidering expansion opportunities. In the worst cases, unsustainable costs are leading to permanent closures.

Experts warn that unless conditions improve, the small business sector could see a wave of contractions, which would not only hurt entrepreneurs but also ripple through the broader economy. Policymakers are being urged to find solutions that can alleviate supply chain issues and control rising import expenses to protect small businesses from further harm.
