Washington, D.C. – U.S. Representative Young Kim, who serves California’s 40th district, has been honored with the Healthcare Champion of Change Policymaker Award from the Asian & Pacific Islander American Health Forum (APIAHF). The award recognizes her bipartisan leadership and sustained advocacy on behalf of Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) communities nationwide.

The Healthcare Champion of Change award is presented to policymakers who demonstrate a commitment to advancing health equity, improving health outcomes, and reducing disparities affecting AANHPI populations. Rep. Kim was commended for backing legislation and initiatives that directly address the unique healthcare needs of these often-overlooked communities.

“I am honored to receive this recognition from APIAHF,” said Rep. Kim. “Supporting health equity and ensuring all communities, particularly those who have historically been underserved, have access to quality healthcare is a bipartisan priority we must continue to champion.”

During her tenure in Congress, Rep. Kim has supported various bipartisan measures aimed at improving healthcare access, addressing language and cultural barriers to care, and securing better health outcomes for minority populations, including the AANHPI community.

Leaders from APIAHF praised Kim’s leadership, highlighting her open dialogue and consistent action in Congress on healthcare issues. “Rep. Young Kim has been a vital partner in our mission to close health equity gaps and ensure that all voices are represented in policy decisions,” said an APIAHF spokesperson during the award announcement.

The award ceremony reinforces the growing importance of bipartisan efforts to address healthcare disparities in diverse populations across the United States.
