As anticipation builds across the country, the Powerball jackpot has surged to an estimated $125 million ahead of the next drawing scheduled for Saturday, May 17, 2025. With no grand prize winner in recent draws, the jackpot continues to climb, drawing attention from players hoping to strike it rich.
The Powerball is a multi-state lottery game available in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Drawings are held every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. ET. To win the jackpot, players must match all five white balls in any order and the red Powerball.
The previous drawing did not produce a top-prize winner, causing the jackpot to roll over. Though no one claimed the grand prize, several lower-tier prizes were awarded, including millions of dollars to lucky ticket holders who matched some of the winning numbers.
Saturday’s drawing will offer one lucky person—or group—the opportunity to take home $125 million in annuity payments over 29 years or a lump sum cash option estimated at approximately $59.3 million before taxes.
Lottery officials urge players to double-check their tickets and to play responsibly. Winning numbers for the May 17 drawing will be available shortly after the draw and can be checked on the official Powerball website or through authorized retail channels.
