Neil Macdonald Appointed as New Chief Executive at Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust

Neil Macdonald has been appointed the new chief executive of Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust. He joins from Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust, where he has held the position of chief executive since 2018.

During his tenure at Buckinghamshire Healthcare, Macdonald oversaw significant improvements in healthcare delivery, emphasized integrated care and community engagement, and led the trust through the challenging period of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Commenting on his appointment, Macdonald expressed enthusiasm for the new role, stating that he looks forward to building on Oxford Health’s reputation for innovation and high-quality care. Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust provides a range of mental health and community services across Oxfordshire and beyond.

The leadership transition comes at a time when healthcare trusts across the UK are navigating recovery strategies post-pandemic, addressing staffing challenges, and implementing long-term sustainability measures. Macdonald’s experience is expected to help guide Oxford Health through this critical period.
