LEGO to Invest $366 Million in Virginia Warehouse, Creating Hundreds of Jobs

The LEGO Group has unveiled plans to invest $366 million to establish a new distribution warehouse in Prince George County, Virginia, further entrenching its commitment to scaling operations in the United States. The project is expected to bring hundreds of new jobs to the region and enhance supply chain efficiency across North America.

In a statement released by the company, LEGO emphasized the strategic importance of the new facility, which complements its broader initiative to expand manufacturing and distribution capabilities closer to key markets. The Virginia warehouse will serve as a vital logistics hub, supporting timely delivery and inventory management for customers across the U.S.

The announcement comes less than a year after LEGO began construction on its first U.S. manufacturing plant in Chesterfield County, Virginia, showing sustained investment in the state. The two facilities collectively represent a significant expansion of the company’s domestic footprint.

“This investment marks another milestone in our commitment to bring LEGO play to more children in the U.S.,” said Carsten Rasmussen, chief operating officer of LEGO Group. “By reinforcing our supply chain, we will be able to serve our consumers more swiftly and efficiently.”

The Virginia Economic Development Partnership worked closely with LEGO and local authorities to secure the project. State and county officials have praised the move, citing its positive economic impact on the region.

Construction of the warehouse is expected to commence later this year, with operations projected to begin once infrastructure and staffing are in place. LEGO anticipates that the facility will begin creating jobs during the building phase, with full employment capacity reached within its first few years of operation.

This development reflects growing demand for LEGO products and aligns with the company’s long-term sustainability goals, including minimizing carbon emissions through optimized logistics and regional production.

Local leaders and business communities view LEGO’s investment as a vote of confidence in Virginia’s workforce and economic environment, signaling potential for further growth in the area.
