Kia Recalls Over 80,000 Vehicles Due to Parking Light Issue

Kia Motors has announced a recall of over 80,000 vehicles due to a defect in the parking light system. The South Korean automaker stated that the issue involves a malfunction in the vehicle’s lighting software, which may cause the parking lights to operate improperly.

According to Kia, the problem can lead to reduced visibility for the vehicle during low-light conditions, potentially increasing the risk of accidents. The company emphasized that the issue is confined to a specific software anomaly and does not involve any mechanical or electrical hardware failures.

The recall involves vehicles manufactured over a certain period, and owners will be notified directly to schedule a service appointment. Kia representatives added that the repair consists of a straightforward software update, which will be provided at no cost to affected customers.

Owners are encouraged to contact their local Kia dealerships or visit the company’s recall website to determine if their vehicle is included in the recall. The company reassured customers that it is taking proactive steps to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with industry standards.

Regulatory agencies, including the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), have been informed of the recall, and Kia is cooperating fully with all parties to manage the remedy process.

Drivers experiencing any unusual behavior in their parking lights should seek immediate assistance from a certified Kia service provider.
