Instagram Threads Glitch Causes Repetition of Identical Posts Across Feed

A technical glitch in Instagram’s Threads app is leading to an unusual issue where users are seeing the same message posted repeatedly across multiple accounts on their feeds. The bug has created confusion and amusement among Threads users, with many taking to other social media platforms to share screenshots of the duplicated content flooding their timelines.

The issue appears to stem from a malfunction in the platform’s feed algorithm or post rendering mechanism, where instead of pulling unique content from each user, the feed displays the same post verbatim across different accounts. While it’s not yet confirmed whether the repeated posts are actual submissions from multiple users or simply a display error, the phenomenon has gone viral as users question what’s happening.

Meta, the parent company behind Instagram and Threads, has not yet released an official statement addressing the glitch. However, incidents like this highlight some of the ongoing challenges the company faces in scaling and stabilizing Threads, its text-based conversation app meant to rival Twitter (now X).

Threads, which launched in mid-2023, has seen fluctuating user engagement and continues to evolve in response to user feedback. The application aims to integrate cultural discussions and real-time commentary into a social media experience that is closely tied to Instagram’s existing user base.

Technical problems such as the current glitch underscore the importance of robust testing and maintenance, especially as Threads competes in a crowded social media landscape. Users are advised to update their apps regularly and report unusual behavior to Meta through the available support channels.

As the company investigates the issue, it remains unclear how widespread the glitch is or when a fix will be implemented. In the meantime, the repetitive post error serves as a reminder of the growing pains often experienced by new digital platforms.
