Formerly Incarcerated Woman Builds $10M Organization for Justice-Involved Women

Nowlan, who faced significant challenges from an early age—including being on her own at just 13 and moving in and out of incarceration—has significantly transformed her life. Drawing from her personal experiences, she dedicated herself to supporting other marginalized women who have encountered similar hardships.

She founded ReImagine Freedom, a nonprofit organization focused on helping justice-involved and marginalized women rebuild their lives. Through strategic leadership and passionate advocacy, Nowlan has grown the organization from an initial budget of $500,000 to one exceeding $10 million.

ReImagine Freedom offers a range of services, including housing support, employment training, and community reintegration programs. Under Nowlan’s leadership, the organization has become a powerful force for change, championing the empowerment and rehabilitation of women affected by the justice system.

Nowlan’s journey from incarceration to executive leadership underscores the transformative power of resilience and purpose, inspiring a new generation of leaders committed to social justice and equity.
