According to law enforcement and cybersecurity experts, these AI-generated images are often so convincing that they can bypass standard verification processes. The technology allows fraudsters to produce realistic human faces that do not belong to any real individual, making it difficult for conventional image-matching software to detect fake identities.
These fabricated images are then employed to forge documents or create online personas, which can be used for illegal purposes such as identity theft, financial fraud, or manipulating public opinion.
