Candid, a trusted source of data and insights about nonprofits, has launched a new initiative designed to improve transparency and accessibility of nonprofit data. This effort is part of Candid’s ongoing commitment to equip donors, funders, researchers, and the public with accurate and comprehensive information about nonprofit organizations.

Candid was formed in 2019 through the merger of Foundation Center and GuideStar, two longstanding leaders in nonprofit data. Since its inception, Candid has worked to centralize and streamline nonprofit information, making it easier for stakeholders to access reliable data to make informed decisions.

The new initiative focuses on enhancing the accessibility and accuracy of nonprofit profiles, encouraging organizations to regularly update their information on Candid’s platform. Additionally, Candid is developing tools and resources to support organizations in presenting their data clearly, including technical assistance and data visualization features.

“Transparent and timely information is critical for building trust in the nonprofit sector,” said a Candid spokesperson. “Through this new initiative, we aim to support nonprofits in telling their stories with accuracy and impact.”

This move arrives at a time when transparency and accountability are increasingly demanded in the charitable sector. Donors and institutional funders are placing greater emphasis on data substantiation before committing their support.

Candid encourages all nonprofit organizations to engage with the platform by claiming their profiles, updating key information, and taking advantage of new tools that enhance visibility and trust. More details about the initiative will be shared in the coming months as Candid continues to roll out its updated features.

The initiative reinforces Candid’s position as a leader in nonprofit data services, supporting a stronger, more informed philanthropic ecosystem globally.
