Amazon India has taken a significant step in expanding its presence in the healthcare sector by launching at-home diagnostics services across six major cities. This new service, introduced as part of its broader Amazon Medical initiative, aims to enhance accessibility and convenience for consumers seeking medical testing services.

The cities currently covered under this new offering include Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kolkata, and Chennai. Customers residing in these regions can now book diagnostic tests and health checks through the Amazon platform, with sample collection conducted at their homes by trained professionals.

This development is part of Amazon’s ongoing strategy to integrate comprehensive healthcare solutions into its services in India. The company has partnered with reputed diagnostic service providers to ensure high standards of testing and data privacy. The launch taps into the growing demand for remote healthcare services, a trend that has accelerated in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Users can access the at-home diagnostics by logging into the Amazon app or website, selecting the relevant test or package, and scheduling a convenient time for sample collection. Test reports are expected to be shared digitally, minimizing the need for in-person visits and supporting more timely healthcare decision-making.

With this move, Amazon India strengthens its foothold in the rapidly evolving digital healthcare landscape, offering users not only medical products and teleconsultations but now also laboratory diagnostics—all under one platform.

Industry analysts suggest that this step could significantly increase competition in the digital healthcare space, which already includes players like Tata 1mg, Pharmeasy, and Netmeds. Amazon’s brand strength, vast logistics network, and customer trust could provide it with an edge in attracting users to its new healthcare services.
