Amazon Expands Alexa+ to Over 100,000 Users, CEO Says

Amazon CEO Andy Jassy has confirmed that Alexa+, the company’s upgraded digital assistant powered by generative artificial intelligence, is now available to over 100,000 users. The announcement marks a significant milestone in the tech giant’s efforts to enhance its popular voice assistant with advanced AI capabilities.

Alexa+ represents Amazon’s latest move to remain competitive in the AI space by integrating generative AI into its existing voice assistant platform. The new version aims to deliver more natural, context-aware conversations, improved task handling, and personalized assistance based on user behavior and preferences.

The deployment to over 100,000 users suggests Amazon is conducting a broad testing phase, likely aimed at gathering feedback and optimizing the assistant before a wider public release.

Jassy did not disclose a specific timeline for full public availability but emphasized the company’s commitment to innovation in voice and AI technologies. As competition intensifies in the AI assistant space, Alexa+ is seen as a key pillar in Amazon’s broader AI strategy moving forward.
