Allegheny Health Network (AHN) and Cigna, a global health services company, have reached a new agreement that will keep AHN in Cigna’s health insurance provider network for the next three years. The contract will remain active through June 30, 2028, and ensures continued in-network access for Cigna members to AHN’s extensive medical facilities and services.

The new agreement covers a wide range of healthcare services provided through AHN’s network of hospitals, primary care and specialty physicians, outpatient centers, and other facilities across western Pennsylvania. The partnership is expected to offer stability for both Cigna policyholders and AHN patients who rely on coordinated access to high-quality care.

While specific financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed, representatives from both organizations expressed satisfaction with the contract and a shared commitment to providing accessible, affordable, and high-quality healthcare options. The extension of the agreement aims to avoid disruptions for Cigna members who regularly utilize AHN facilities and providers.

AHN, which is part of Highmark Health, operates a comprehensive network of more than a dozen hospitals along with hundreds of outpatient facilities, clinicians, and medical specialists. Cigna serves millions of health insurance customers nationwide, with a significant number residing in Pennsylvania.

This renewed partnership between AHN and Cigna will help ensure continuity of care for thousands of patients in the region, while also reinforcing collaboration between health systems and insurers to meet evolving healthcare needs.
