Martinelli’s, a well-known producer of apple juice products, has announced the recall of more than 7,000 cases of its apple juice due to concerns over potential patulin contamination. Patulin is a toxin produced by certain molds that can pose serious health risks if consumed.

The recall was initiated out of an abundance of caution after routine testing flagged elevated levels of patulin in some batches. Exposure to patulin can lead to nausea, gastrointestinal disturbances, and in rare cases, more severe health issues, particularly in young children, elderly individuals, and those with weakened immune systems.

Consumers who have purchased the affected products are advised not to consume them and to dispose of the juice or return it to the place of purchase for a refund. Martinelli’s has stated that it is working closely with regulatory agencies to ensure that all affected products are removed from store shelves and has implemented additional quality control measures to prevent future incidents.

Customers seeking more information about the recall can contact Martinelli’s customer service or visit the company’s website for updates.
