Louisville Mayor Greenberg Unveils FY 2026 Budget Proposal to Metro Council

Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg has officially presented his proposed budget for fiscal year 2026 to the Louisville Metro Council, detailing how he intends to allocate city funds to address community needs and priorities.

The budget proposal outlines investments across a range of areas including public safety, infrastructure, public parks, and youth programs. While specific figures were not immediately released, Greenberg emphasized a focus on creating safer neighborhoods, improving city services, and enhancing recreational opportunities for families.

Among the highlighted projects was the development and revitalization of public spaces, such as expanding access to playgrounds and community centers. The proposal also includes funding aimed at providing more resources to Louisville’s police and fire departments, in an effort to improve response times and community outreach.

In his remarks to the council, Mayor Greenberg stated that the budget reflects the administration’s commitment to building a more equitable and responsive city government.

The Louisville Metro Council is set to review and provide feedback on the budget in the coming weeks, with opportunities for public input before final approval is granted later this year.
